ABOUT BOOK JOLT

There is a whole new evolution in publishing, it is not the same industry it was 5 years ago and in fact it is changing every year. Times have also changed on how consumers buy books. Bookstores are suffering because the way people are buying books has changed. Just about everybody that buys books in the U.S. has Internet access. So there are now many smart authors who are selling thousands of books using the Internet. The bookstore model has changed to the Internet model. Book Jolt uses both methods of producing a book, offset printing and Print-on-demand. The benefit of Print-on-demand is that it makes it possible to print books one at a time. Books are digitized and stored in our supplier’s digital library to be printed as required to fill orders. This takes the risk out of printing a large number of books and makes production affordable for the average author. Print-on-demand also offers authors a unique way to import and export titles (particularly into North America and Europe) with virtually no risk and a greatly reduced cost.

The production process in our Basic, Advanced, and Premium Publishing Packages is as follows:

  1. We have an author’s production call with you and 2 members of our team. This call is usually 60 minutes in length. We discuss your vision of your book, explain production dates and talk about marketing.
  2. Production starts with creation of two or three cover designs (depending on your package). The designer will then send you the cover PDF. you make any revisions at this point.
  3. Once your cover has been approved, we will start on the interior. The reason we do the cover first is that it dictates the typefaces and design of your overall look of your book. The designers will design the first 30 pages of the interior and send you a PDF by email for your approval.
  4. As soon as you approve the first 30 pages the design will complete the interior. A completed PDF will be sent to you for your changes and approval. Now is the time to do any corrections.
  5. Once we know the exact number of pages of your book, the cover designer will make a complete cover wrap (Front, Back covers as well as the spine). It will be sent to you for your final approval.
  6. When we receive your final OK you will receive your complimentary printed books within 10-14 days.

Print-on-demand publishers are often confused with vanity printers. Vanity book publishers do not pay royalties, or distribute books, plus they don’t provide marketing or promotional support for the authors. They are printers and make their money on selling you books.

Book Jolt is a publisher we want our authors to succeed – their success is our success! Again we print using both printing methods, Print-on-demand and traditional offset methods depending on the sales of the authors books. Unlike vanity press we do pay royalties, and are constantly having our ear to the Internet discovering better ways to for our authors to sell more books.

Book Jolt offers a full trade discount along with excepting returnable books from booksellers. Self-publishers who don’t have these policies in place find that bookstores will never order books from them. This cost Book Jolt hundreds of dollars per year but we are willing to do it to get into retail sale space.
If your book is a specialty niche subject you will find there are certain stores that specialize in that niche and these are potential outlets. Certain corporations that fit your books speciality would be interested in in the book to distribute to their customers.
Book Jolt makes our profit from selling books. it’s important to us that your book sells. We will do whatever we can to see that that happens.

If you have no email Book Jolt will make sure that you get one and we will set it up for you. If not we will communicate by mail and phone.
