Bill James is a publishing pioneer with over 50 years of experience in the industry. Since printing his first book in the basement of his home in 1975, Bill has helped bring more than one million books to print—serving authors, ministries, nonprofits, and mission-driven entrepreneurs across the globe. His journey spans every major revolution in publishing, from hot-lead presses and desktop publishing to today’s AI-powered platforms.

A lifelong learner and teacher, Bill built a multi-generational publishing business where even his wife, four daughters, and extended family contributed to the legacy. He was asked to start Liberty University’s publishing division, supported indigenous missionaries in foreign countries by helping them publish their messages, and trained countless first-time authors to navigate the ever-changing landscape of book publishing.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Bill authored three books on marketing, combining practical business wisdom with real-world experience. One of those books caught the attention of an early internet marketer, who purchased the rights and successfully sold it as an online course for over five years, long before digital marketing was mainstream. That experience not only confirmed the lasting value of Bill’s strategies but also introduced him to the power of scalable, repeatable systems—an idea that continues to shape his work today.

Now, with The AI Publishing Revolution, Bill combines timeless publishing wisdom with cutting-edge AI tools to guide aspiring authors through a step-by-step, ethical process to research, write, publish, and launch a professional book—without gatekeepers, gimmicks, or overwhelm. Bill’s mission is to empower authors to not only publish books but to build sustainable, impactful author careers—and to do it with integrity, excellence, and joy. When he’s not teaching or writing, you’ll find him serving in ministry, spending time with his wife Nancy of 57 years, or cheering on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their own creative pursuits.
